Well what can I say about YOGI?
At 20 months of age the Yogester is 26 1/2 inches tall, 60kg and still sucks his blanket to go to sleep.
He loves; wallets, mobile phones, remote controls, expensive ladies boots, pot plants, children with food in their hands, bitches in season, ice cubes, belly rubs, slobbering, KFC, jumping in the bath tub with you, and sucking his blanket to go to sleep.
He hates, neighbours, anyone at the front door, other male dogs, push bikes, motor bikes, cats, and being ignored.
Mr Personality is an accomplished thief with a diploma in shredding unread post cards, phone bills and bank statements.
Despite all the above we've been humbled in having such a good friend, guardian and clown in our home.
Yogi didn't enter the show ring till 12 months old. I didn't want other breeders or exhibitors having their opinion of him during that ugly gangly puppy stage.
We allocated 1 weekend in each month for showing Yogi and he made himself an Aust Champion in 10 weekends. Most of his recognition has been from foreign international or interstate judges than from local judges.(go figure) He won his class at the Sydney Royal, and has multiple in group and in show awards from foreign judges and a best red at a Bullmastiff speciality show. He has a very interesting and sought after pedigree, with a nice blend of champion dogs and bitches in his genes. He is maturing slowly and getting better with age.
Yogi is now almost 3 years old, 27 inches at the shoulders, 68Kg and still sucks his blanket to go to sleep, these days he is scarcely exhibited preferring to guard the family home which he does fiercely. Getting more possessive of his owners and property as he matures Yogi is one of a few Bullmastiffs that will still do what he was bred for.
